The Triple Entente ("entente" French for "deal") was the alliance formed in 1907 among the Great Britain, the French Republic, and the Russian Empire.
On most Faberge eggs of this type, the British flag is smaller and usually painted over guilloche enamel (see Faberge The Forbes Collection, page 77). This large flag is done in three-color translucent enamel.
Egg pendants with the French flag are extremely rare.
Originally, the frames were probably fitted with miniature photographic portraits of King of England and French President.
Marked with workmaster's initials Cyrillic 'FA'.
