Imperial presentation Easter egg, decorated with a gilt cypher of empress Alexandra Feodorovna. Height 3 1/4 in. Imperial Porcelain Factory. The egg has a very rare combination of unusual glazes which were used at the factory around 1900 - uneven red known in Russia as "bull's blood" and spotty "peacock's eye". These porcelain eggs were made by the court order and were given by empress Alexandra on Easter Day.
