Two porcelain plates from the service of the Imperial yacht "Alexandria", period of Nicholas II, by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, 1906 and 1912 (green cipher marks).

The plates are painted with the coat of arms: a gold sword on a blue shield placed through a wreath of white roses with the motto "For Faith, Czar and Fatherland". The design of the shield is identical to the coat of arms of the Cottage palace 'Alexandria' in Peterhof. The rims are painted blue.

Literature: "Dining with the Czars" page 125;  "Russian Imperial Yachts" pages 218-219.

The yacht was built in 1906 and was used by Nicholas II and the Imperial family for short voyages from St.Petersburg to Peterhof and Kronstadt. On board of "Alexandria", Nicholas II met with French premier Raymond Poincaré in 1912 and in 1914, when the last was president.
