A Faberge guilloche enamel, silver and gold egg pendant with the British flag.

The egg was made in St. Petersburg during the World War I (1914-1917) by Faberge's workmaster Feodor Afanasiev.

Russia and Britain were allies in the Great War, and Faberge produced egg pendants with their flags.

On most Faberge eggs of this type, the British flag is smaller and usually painted over guilloche enamel (see Faberge The Forbes Collection, page 77). This large flag is done in three-color translucent enamel.

Marked on the gold suspension ring with master's initials ' Ф A ', and 1908-1917 assay mark.

Height (w/o suspension ring) - 1,8 cm (3/4 in.).
