Commemorative Porcelain Beaker 1899 by the Kornilov Factory in St Petersburg. The centennial of the Cavalier Guard (Kavalergardsky) Regiment of Her Imperial Majesty Empress Maria Feodorovna (wife of Alexander III), the most elite regiment of the Imperial Guards. The beaker was made for a jubilee regimental dinner, which was attended by the Imperial family. It is decorated with the crowned monogram of Nicholas II, a portrait of Maria Feodorovna (chief of the regiment) surrounded by regimental standards, and a figure of cavalier guard officer dressed in the uniform from the period of Napoleonic war. One repaired rim chip, and a couple glaze flaws around the factory mark on the bottom. Height 4 1/2 in.
