Porcelain Easter egg with a finely painted miniature of Saint Dmitry Rostovsky, the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, circa 1860. St. Dmitry is wearing a red miter and red robe, yellow omophorion embroidered with crosses, a panagia and pectoral cross. His right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing, and he holds a crosier in his left. Condition: minor scratches. Height 10,5 cm (4 1/4 in).
Depiction of St. Dmitry on porcelain eggs is extremely rare.

The miniature is signed with initials 'A.K.' for the painter Andrei Alexandrovich Kirsanov (died 1887).
Inscription in Cyrillic on the frame of the miniature: Dmitry Rostovsky.
The reverse is with a sunburst on a gold ground within a ribbon tied wreath.
