The icon  is painted on a metal plate, probably silver.

Christ is raising his right hand in blessing. The open Book in his left hand is inscribed: "I am the Light of the World."

The oklad has never been cleaned. The silver is covered with thick lustrous patina. If cleaned, the chased designs will appear yellow since the oklad, originally, was gilded.

Marked on the lower rim of the oklad with 88 zolotniks standard (.916 silver) and K.FABERGE in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial eagle (warrant).

Original Faberge's scratched inventory number 35967.
