Arms of the cross on Christ's halo are finely engraved to simulate wood grain.

The attires with matted surface are finely chased in high relief and highlighted with polished elements.

The halos are highly polished in order to contrast with the  largely matt finish of the attires. The rims of the halos are enriched with cloisonne enamel.

The predominant colors of the enameled decorations are blue and turquoise, popular colors of Moscow enamelers in the late 1880s-early 1890s.

The attire of Mother of God is decorated with two applied enamel rosettes.

The entire surface of the background is engine-turned in zig-zag pattern.

The border is applied with shaped cloisonne enamel appliques highlighted by white stylized crosses.

The border is chased with elaborate designs incorporating stylized crosses which are highly polished.

The oklad is marked with masters's initials 'EK' for Emilyan Kuznetsov, date 1890 with assayer's initials of Lev Oleks, 84 zolotniks standard and Moscow city stamp. The halos with master's initials of Ivan Ivanovich Ovchinnikov, date 1890 with assayer's initials of Alexander Romanov, 84 zolotniks standard and Moscow city stamp. Each border applique is marked with 84 standard (875 silver).
