SUPERB AND HIGHLY UNUSUAL
silver-gilt and painted cloisonne enamel bowl by Khlebnikov, made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917. Height 1 3/4 in. (4,5 cm). Diameter 3 1/8 in. (8 cm). Some restoration to gilt enamel of the frames of the miniatures.
The front and back are decorated in the Modern style of the 1910s with a stylized partial view of the Moscow Kremlin.

The bowl is engraved at the sides with a Cyrillic monogram STB and date 18. IX. 1916.
Marked under base with 88 zolotniks standard (916 silver) and KHLEBNIKOV beneath Imperial warrant.
