A kovsh of similar shape from the Hillwood Museum collection, also by Maria Semenova, is illustrated in Russian Enamels Kievan Rus to Faberge by Anne Odom, 1996, page 146.
The center is enameled with a stylized double headed eagle.
Marked under the base with 84 standard (875 silver) with assayer's initials of Ivan Lebedkin and maker's initials 'MC' for Maria Semenova.
