Cipher of the Empress Maria: interlaced Cyrillic 'M' and 'F' beneath Imperial crown.
The finely executed cipher is engraved over a raised oval medallion.
A glass decanter, circa 1810, bearing a medallion of similar design and an Imperial cipher 'M' for Empress Maria, mother of Alexander I, is illustrated in the Hermitage exhibition catalog for the Imperial Glass Factory 1777-1917.
Each decanter has a small flat chip on base rim.
