Very rare Imperial presentation gold cigarette case made for the celebration of the Romanov Dynasty Tercentenary in 1913, by the firm of Morozov, St. Petersburg, 56 gold standard (14K). The case has matt finish. The thumbpiece is set with a cabochon sapphire. The cover is chased in high relief with two Byzantine-style czarist eagles from the 17th century and the crown of Monomakh surmounted with a small stylized Imperial crown. Weight 2,9 oz. (83 g). 2 1/16 x 3 7/16 in. (5,2 x 8,7 cm).
A silver cigarette case by Morozov of the same shape and with a similar Byzantine-style eagle was sold at Sotheby's London on December 1, 2005.

Two identical eagles, probably, symbolize stability of the czarist power. The combination of two crowns (ancient Czarist and Imperial), perhaps, represents the continuity of power.
Struck with 56 standard, workmaster's initials and V.MOROZOV under Imperial warrant.
