2. Nicholas II, his four daughters and son. Inscription in pencil (in Russian) on reverse " Snow tower in the park of the Alexander palace, in building of which, His Majesty the Emperor  is taking part. Tsarskoe Selo, January-March 1916".  3 3/8 x 3 3/8 in. (8,5 x 8,5 cm).


Very fine and rare cabinet photograph, circa 1900, of the Grand Duke Sergei (Serge) Alexandrovich, son of Alexander II, Governor of Moscow, assassined by a revolutionist in 1905. The Grand Duke is in the uniform of General-Adjutant wearing collar of the order of St Andrew, St Vladimir sash, badges of the suites of Alexander II, Alexander III and Nicholas II, Russian and foreign medals and orders.  Size w/o frame 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 in. (14,2 x 21,5 cm).

The reverse is decorated with the Imperial badges of the members of Grand Duke Sergei's family, and the following inscription: "Photographer of Their Imperial Highnesses Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna , Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich, and Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna, Duchess of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, D.Asikritov, Moscow, street address".

Inscription near the upper edge in ink: "Her Majesty Empress Alexandra Feodorovna". The upper edge is cut off, probably, to fit  the  frame. The photograph is bigger than regular size cabinet cards.

Royal photo album, 1906-1919, comprises photographs taken by Queen Alexandra of England , her daughter Princess Victoria, and people who were with them at the time of their visits to Norway in 1906-1907 and  to Russia in 1908, during the official visit made by Edward VII.

There are 6 rare photographs taken on board of the Imperial yacht Standard.

There are around 70 photos related to the British Royal family  in the album, the last two were taken at the time of the wedding of Princess Patricia of Connaught and Captain Alexander Ramsay in 1919.

The album comes with a copy of a letter written by Curator of Photograph Collection in the Royal Archives.
