Two-color gold and silver miniature pendant by Faberge, made in St. Petersburg between 1908 and 1917, workmaster August Hollming, formed as a knife cutting an egg. Height 7/8 in. (2,1 cm).
An egg pendant of similar design from the Forbes magazine collection is illustrated in Faberge The Forbes Collection, page 79. This egg is much more elaborate than the Forbes piece.

The shaped yellow gold handle of the knife is engraved to resemble wood grain.
Marked on both suspension rings with master's initials (six pointed star between 'A' and 'H') and 56 gold standard (14K). The smaller ring is also struck with later European control marks (585 gold).
