Porcelain butter dish in the form of a leaf from a service made for the Grand Duchess Olga (1827-1892), daughter of Nicholas I. Imperial Porcelain Factory circa 1850 (period of Nicholas I), blue under glaze mark. This piece is from the extensive service of the Grand Duchess, which has been sold at Sotheby's in December 2000 in Germany. The Grand Duchess was married to the king of Wurttemberg (Germany). Some wear to gilding, mostly on the handle. Length 5 1/2 in. (14 cm).
