A VERY FINE antique Imperial Russian gilded silver and blue enamel physician badge, made in Moscow around 1897. 

Height 2 1/2 in. (6,3 cm). 

Condition: light overall wear, some small chips to enamel, two broken leaves.

Imperial eagle is flanked by laurel and oak branches. Two snakes crawling to the cup of Hippocrates out of the branches (a symbol of medicine).

Struck with 84 zolotniks standard (875 silver), Moscow city stamp, and master's initials 'AM'.
